VOLUNTEER ADULT RIDING HELP WANTED

Thank you for your interest in the Stillwater MTB program. We are a competitive co-ed riding program for students attending schools within the District 834 boundaries in Stillwater, MN, as outlined in our student Eligibility Policy.  We are considered an “independent provider” by the school district and so we must provide all our own volunteers for support. That is why you have seen the posters around!

Although we can train formally as a team with coaches starting in July, most of our critical riding is after school hours during September and October. During these months, we meet on school grounds Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. We leave on bicycle by 3:00, returning about 5:00 pm.  This is the time frame we really want your help.

Because we leave the SAHS campus in smaller groups, we need Assistant Coaches with each group during this after school time frame.  Perhaps you have seen us on the road in our groups wearing bright safety vests? Our adults ride with these groups to get them safely to the workout venues.  We have experienced coaches to run the actual workout but getting them safely out and back is a big priority for us.

All volunteers need a basic coaching license and background check from our governing body, MCA, Minnesota Cycling Association.

If you think you can help and consistently commit to at least one of our weekday ride needs, please contact Team Director Todd Lunneborg for more information director@sasca-mn.org to learn more.
